Billy Sharp Hangs Up His Boots After Stellar 22-Year Journey
Billy Sharp has decided to retire from professional football at the age of 40, closing the chapter on a remarkable 22-year career.
The Sheffield United icon made a significant impact during his time with various clubs, including Rushden & Diamonds, Scunthorpe United, Southampton, Nottingham Forest, Reading, Leeds United, and Doncaster Rovers, but it was with the Blades that he truly became a legend.
Throughout his career, Sharp made 377 appearances for his hometown club and found the back of the net an impressive 299 times.
He had been without a club since leaving Doncaster at the conclusion of last season, where he ended his career with a memorable hat-trick against Peterborough.
