Everton's Martin Sherif Hit with £5,000 Fine for Betting Violations
Martin Sherif, the Everton forward, has been fined £5,000 by the Football Association for violating its betting regulations over the last 15 months.
The 20-year-old acknowledged that he placed a total of 61 bets on football matches between November 20, 2024, and February 12, 2026.
Originally from Liberia, Sherif became part of Everton's youth academy in 2019 and was promoted to training with the first team in early 2025.
This February, he completed a loan move to Port Vale for the remainder of the season, where he managed to score twice in 17 appearances, even as the team faced relegation.
An FA statement confirmed, "The player admitted breaching FA Rule E1.2 by causing, permitting, or enabling 61 bets to be placed on football matches."
