Ronaldo Faces Suspension After Abrupt Exit from National Team

Ronaldo Faces Suspension After Abrupt Exit from National Team
Cristiano Ronaldo is in hot water with the Portuguese football federation, which has announced a provisional suspension for the iconic forward after he abruptly left the national team. In a public apology to fans, the 41-year-old didn't hold back in critiquing coach Jorge Jesus, stating he is ready to accept any penalties that come his way. According to the Portuguese outlet A Bola, the federation confirmed that disciplinary actions have officially begun. They noted that while Ronaldo was already facing an automatic preventive suspension, a new non-automatic preventive suspension has been put in place, and the matter has been prioritized for urgent review. Ronaldo detailed the incident that led to his departure from Copenhagen prior to Portugal’s Nations League clash with Denmark last week. He claimed that there was an agreement with Jesus to rest him for the matches against Norway and Denmark to manage his fitness levels. However, on the day of the Norway match, the manager changed the plan and indicated that Ronaldo would play for 30 minutes. "Everyone knows how that turned out. I was warming up from half-time onwards, watching the clock tick down, and I never got called into the game," Ronaldo recounted. "The manager went back on his word to me." This situation continues to unfold, and fans are waiting to see how it will all play out.
