Wrexham Seeks Quick Redemption After Setback Against West Brom

Wrexham Seeks Quick Redemption After Setback Against West Brom
Wrexham's recent setback against West Brom marked their third defeat of the season, and now manager Phil Parkinson is calling for a swift response from his players. The match began with a bang as Kieffer Moore unleashed a spectacular 30-yard strike to put Wrexham ahead. However, the euphoria was short-lived as West Brom struck back with two goals in the final moments, sealing a 2-1 victory for the visitors. Wrexham will return to the Racecourse this Saturday, facing off against struggling Preston North End, who are currently at the bottom of the table. After the defeat, Parkinson emphasized the need for the team to hunker down and come together: "When you've lost a game at home, it's time to batten down the hatches and come out strong as a group. That’s the mindset we’ll carry into the weekend." Accepting the inevitable criticism following the loss, he added, "We know we’ll hear it, and we’re prepared for that. But there’s a lot of resilience at our training ground, and we’ll demonstrate that leading up to the Preston match." West Brom’s comeback was ignited by late goals from Isaac Price and substitute Aune Heggebo, marking their first league win in four outings. This loss for Wrexham dashed hopes of achieving back-to-back home victories for the first time since February. Reflecting on the defeat, Parkinson said, "Losing in that way is tough. The lads felt it; the game was in our grasp. We need to find solutions and pinpoint areas for improvement." He also praised Moore for his brilliant goal, highlighting the importance of his contributions. Despite Moore being substituted shortly after his goal, Parkinson explained it was a precaution after the striker played the full match in a previous draw against Derby County. "Goals like that deserve to be part of a winning performance," Parkinson remarked. "It was a fantastic strike, and he’s already netted four this season, along with several assists. He’s had a strong start and is scoring a variety of goals. We just need to manage his workload carefully."
